  • Sabudana 1and 1/2 cup.
  • 3 Potatoes boiled and mashed finely.
  • 1/2 cup roasted peanut coarsely crushed.
  • 2 Green chilies chopped.
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger.
  • 3 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala.
  • 2 tablespoon corn flour.
  • 1 teaspoon red chilly powder.
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Oil for deep frying.


  • Wash Sabudana in running water to remove impurities and soak it in enough water for 3 hours or for overnight.Drain excess water from it after soaking.
  • In a bowl take soaked Sabu dana, mashed potatoes, and corn flour and mix it well.
  • Now add other ingredients like peanuts, chilies, ginger, coriander leaves,garam masala, chili powder, lemon juice and salt and mix it again.

  • Now make small balls of that paste and flatten it from upside and downside.
  • In a pan heat oil and put those cutlets for deep frying until cutlets become golden brown.
  • Take out fried cutlets in a paper napkin so that extra oil is absorbed.
  • Lastly, serve with sauce or any green chutney of your own choice.

Some important tips to consider-

  • Soak Sabu dana in a shallow pan.
  • Don’t put excess water for soaking, only 1-inch height above the Sabu dana will be enough.
  • Boil potatoes first and keep it inside the refrigerator. The cooled potatoes will not have humid and it will give some dryness to the paste.
  • Paste must be dry enough to make it in a ball and if it has has excess humid then add some more cornflour.
  • Greese your palm with oil before making balls.
